ELO Matchmaking
ELO Matchmaking System
Both the Amateur and Pro Leagues will use an ELO-based matchmaking system. Hereโs how it works:
ELO Rating: Each player is assigned an ELO rating, which increases or decreases based on the outcome of their matches.
Winning against higher-rated players awards more ELO points, while losing to lower-rated players causes a significant drop in ELO.
Winning against lower-rated players grants fewer ELO points, and losing to higher-rated players causes a smaller drop.
Shared ELO System: The ELO system will be shared across both leagues, so players who perform well in the Amateur League can transition into the Pro League while retaining their rank, but will need to adapt to the complexity of evolved spells.
Matchmaking: Players will be matched with others of similar ELO ratings, ensuring balanced and competitive matches. The matchmaking will prioritize finding opponents close to a player's ELO rating to maintain fairness and challenge.
ELO Matchmaking: Shared between both leagues, matching players of similar skill levels.
